Where exactly are my files stored?
All Softmask data is stored in secure data centers located within the European Union. We currently use facilities in Germany and the Netherlands that meet the highest industry standards for physical security, redundancy, and reliability. Your files never leave these European data centers, ensuring they remain under the strong protection of EU privacy laws at all times.
What file types can I store on Softmask?
Softmask supports all common file types without restrictions. This includes documents, images, videos, audio files, archives, and more. You can upload any file up to our maximum file size limit of 100MB per file (on free plans). We don't discriminate against specific file formats, giving you complete flexibility to store your digital content.
How does file recovery work?
When you delete a file, it's moved to the Trash instead of being permanently removed. Files in the Trash can be restored with a single click. The retention period for deleted files depends on your plan: Free (7 days), Basic (30 days), Essential (90 days), and Premium (180 days). After this period, files are permanently deleted to free up your storage space.
Can I access my files offline?
Files stored on Softmask are primarily accessed through our web interface, which requires an internet connection. However, you can download any file to your local device for offline access when needed. Simply select the files you want to use offline and click the download button. You can then upload any changes when you reconnect.
